What is Microdermabrasion and how long does it take?
A Diamond Microdermabrasion Facial uses a gentle exfoliating tool to buff away dull skin, minimizing age spots, fine lines, enlarged pores, and uneven tone. Treatments take about 50 minutes, with series pricing available.
What results can I expect from Microneedling?
Our Microneedling Facial stimulates collagen, refines pore size, smooths fine lines, and brightens discoloration. It’s best done in a series—3 or 6 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart—for long-term renewal.
How many treatments will I need to see visible improvements?
Microdermabrasion: Noticeable glow after a single visit, but best results come from multiple sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart.
Microneedling: For lasting collagen-boosted changes, plan for a series of 3–6 treatments with regular intervals.
Is there any downtime?
Microdermabrasion: Minimal—some redness or sensitivity may occur but typically subsides within hours.
Microneedling: Mild redness or tenderness may last a day or two. Recovery is short when proper post-care is followed.
Is microdermabrasion safe for all skin types?
Yes—when performed by a trained esthetician, microdermabrasion is safe for most skin types. It’s important, however, to disclose any conditions like rosacea, eczema, or capillary fragility beforehand so we can customize or recommend alternatives.
How should I prepare before a facial or skin resurfacing treatment?
- Avoid strong exfoliants, retinoids, or acids for 3–5 days prior.
- Arrive with a clean face—skip heavy makeup.
- Hydrate well before and after your appointment for best results.
Which treatment is right for my skin concern—facial, microdermabrasion, or microneedling?
- Want radiant glow or texture smoothing? Microdermabrasion is great for a quick refresh.
- Targeting fine lines, acne scars, or uneven tone? Microneedling offers deeper stimulation.
- Curious which approach suits you best? We’ll tailor a facial—or a combination of treatments—based on your skin’s unique needs.
Can I add extras to my facial?
Absolutely! Customize your experience with luxurious add-ons like:
Anti‑Aging Eye Treatment, Lip Renewal, Organic Peels (Mangosteen, Arctic Berry), Collagen Mask, Cryotherapy Massage, Gua Sha, Facial Cupping, Dermaplaning, LED Phototherapy, Neck & Décolleté treatments, and more.
What are the benefits of dermaplaning?
- Instantly smoother, brighter skin
- Better product absorption
- Flawless makeup application
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and rough texture
- Safe for most skin types, even during pregnancy
Will dermaplaning make my hair grow back thicker?
Nope! That's a myth. Your facial hair will grow back at the same rate and texture as before , it just feels different as it grows in because it's been cut straight across, not tapered like before.
What is hydradermabrasion?
Hydrodermabrasion is an advanced skin treatment that combines the mechanical exfoliation of diamond-tip microdermabrasion with the hydration and serum infusion benefits of hydrafacial-style treatments.
Unlike HydraFacial®, which relies solely on chemical exfoliation and suction, hydrodermabrasion uses a diamond-brasion tip to manually exfoliate while simultaneously infusing the skin with targeted solutions — resulting in deeper exfoliation and enhanced skin renewal.
What’s the difference between microdermabrasion and hydradermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion uses crystals or a diamond tip for dry exfoliation
Hydradermabrasion uses diamond microdermabrasion and hydration with suction to cleanse and exfoliate simultaneously. Renewing exfoliation and more hydrating, especially for congested or dehydrated skin types
Which treatment is better dermaplaning or hydradermabrasion?
Both are amazing — it depends on your skin goals:
Choose dermaplaning if you want instant smoothness, fuzz removal, and brighter skin
Choose hydradermabrasion if you're looking for deep hydration, glow, and clean pores
Can’t decide? Ask Regina for a custom combo, Many of our facials include both for the ultimate glow-up.
Is there downtime after dermaplaning or hydradermabrasion?
Both treatments are non-invasive and have no downtime. You might see a slight rosy glow for a few hours after, but you can go back to your day immediately. Just remember to apply sunscreen and avoid active exfoliants and overheating for a few days.
How often should I get dermaplaning or hydradermabrasion?
Dermaplaning: Every 3–4 weeks
Hydradermabrasion: Every 4–6 weeks, or monthly for maintenance and long-term skin health
Can I wear makeup after these treatments?
Yes — but we recommend letting your skin breathe for at least 24 hours to soak up all the hydration and healing benefits. When you do wear makeup, you’ll notice it applies like silk.
Is dermaplaning or hydradermabrasion safe for sensitive skin?
Yes! Both treatments are safe and gentle when performed by trained professionals. At Spa La La Tampa, Regina customizes every treatment to your skin’s needs — whether you're dry, sensitive, acne-prone, or somewhere in between.
How should I care for my skin after dermaplaning or peels?
Aftercare Tip:
Use gentle skincare (no acids or scrubs for 3–5 days)
Wear SPF daily
Stay hydrated to extend that dewy glow
Avoid heat, sweating, and sun exposure for 24 hours
What makes hydrodermabrasion different from a HydraFacial?
Great question — here’s the clear distinction:
Hydrafacial:
- Chemical exfoliation only (via acids & suction)
- Uses plastic vortex tips
- Gentle exfoliation, less abrasive
- Branded, protocol-based treatment
Hydradermabrasion:
- Combines mechanical exfoliation with serum infusion
- Uses diamond-brasion tips for deeper resurfacing
-More exfoliation power — like a wet microdermabrasion
- Technique is customizable for skin needs
Does it hurt or have downtime?
No pain — just a deep-clean, satisfying exfoliation.
You may have mild pinkness for a few hours, but there’s no real downtime. Clients leave with skin that feels refreshed, smooth, and deeply hydrated.
Can I combine Hydrafacail, Hydradermabrasion, microdermabrasion or Dermapalnning with other treatments?
Yes! Many clients love combining these treatments with:
- Dermaplaning
- LED Light Therapy
- Enzyme Peels
- Oxygen infusion
- Neck & décolleté treatments
Our signature and bespoke facials can include these upgrades for a fully customized experience.
How do I care for my skin afterward?
Avoid heavy makeup and exfoliants for 24–48 hours
Stick to gentle, hydrating skincare
Use SPF daily to protect your fresh new skin
Skip saunas, hot yoga, or steam rooms for a day or two
We’ll give you personalized aftercare based on your treatment combo.
